Rings are beautiful fashion ornaments. The most popular forms of the ring jewellery are wedding rings & engagement rings, and the commonly used materials for these rings are gold, silver platinum, stainless steel, titanium and ceramic.

During the earlier days, people used the casting process to fabricate rings. Such ornaments faced challenges like lack of strength and less corrosion resistance. However, the process of metal forging helped them to rectify such issues. Rings created using forging have superior strength and more resistance to corrosion.

Prong setting
A single gemstone is held on to the ring with the help of a prong. Prongs can be of different shapes like round shape, v shape etc.

Bezel setting
In this setting, a thin rim called the bezel surrounds the stone and holds it tight. Bezels come with different types of edges.

Channel setting
Gemstones are set closely in the grooves of a channel. With this arrangement, we can set stones right next to each other without having metal separating them.

Bar setting
Bar settings include fixing the gemstones in between two vertical bars. This arrangement is most commonly found in wedding and engagement rings.

Tension setting
The gemstones are held between two edges of a metal bar by the pressure of those edges. The gemstones appear suspended between the two sides of the shank.

In the case of fashion rings, we can find different forms of designs. The most popular among them are:

Rhinestone rings:Rings that have rhinestone fitted on them (a diamond simulant, made from rock crystals).

Chain rings with bracelets:Rings that accompany a chain with one end connected to the ring and the other end to a bracelet.
