Cuff Earrings
In the modern jewellery market, we can find different earrings, and each of them is distinctive in their manner. One of them is the cuff earring.
So, what are these cuff earrings or ear cuffs? Cuff type earrings are those which you can wear without piercing your ears. You can slip them right on your ear without any pain. These earrings come in different sizes, with a magnificent array of types and shapes.
Now let's see how these earrings are made.
The ear cuffs rely on a curved band of metal that clips on an ear's side cartilage. A tiny piece of solidly built wire that wraps behind the ear will keep them tight and attached to the ear. They are designed to fit "all types of ears", i.e. different ears, as the sizes of ears will vary between customers. These ornaments, no doubt, will securely fit your ear and will be easy and comfortable to wear.
You can adjust the size of an ear cuff by pinching their ends between your thumb and forefinger, and gently pressing until it reaches the required size ( in case they are oversized). You can also rely on pliers for adjusting their size. Even a little adjustment can make a significant difference in accommodating the width of the ear's cartilage. After adjusting its size, slip it down on the thinnest part of the cartilage, and then you can slide it down or up where it fits firmly and securely. Always make sure not to make them too loose, in which case they may fall off. The greater advantage is, unlike other earrings, you won't be feeling their 'weight on your ear' while wearing them. Even though it does not require piercing, it is best advised not to wear it overnight as it could make your ear irritated.
Ear cuffs come in different shapes and styles and do not require any piercing. They can be easily paired with studs, hoops and other types of earrings as well.They are worn in a traditional context and may come in many regional variations.
