Onam

Onam- the most popular harvest festival of Kerala, celebrates the return of King Mahabali. This 10-day long festival is nothing but pure happiness, tradition, harmony, mouth-watering food and decking up with.

Colourful parades which depict the Kerala culture are held at various places. The celebrations include Vallamkali (boat race), Vadamvali (tug-of-war), Pulikali, Onapattu, Kaikottikali, and so on. The houses are adorned with Pookalam, and an elaborate vegetarian meal of more than 13 dishes is prepared.

One of the major attractions of Onam is the Onam shopping, where men and women purchase new dresses and jewellery for the celebration. Palakka Mala
