Tassel Necklace

Once prevented a cord from unravelling into a knot, the filaments on the other side of knot were gathered together and made a tassel. People tried to make alterations to its basic form since then. The affluent undergraduate students of the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford were restricted by the presence of golden tassels on their caps. Tassels also adorned the graduation cap, and its movement represented the change of the person from candidate to alumnus.

Tassel jewellery is commonly made of Gold, Silver, Stainless steel and Sterling Silver in simple designs and intricate and more complicated designs, beaded and studded with gemstones. They are mostly preferred because of their versatility and their ability to beautify party wear and casuals further. Care should be taken while selecting tassel necklaces to ensure the mobility and intact look of the tassels.
