Diamond Sets Designs

These precious gemstonesare one of the most sought after pieces of jewels. While an ideal diamond may appear to be completely colourless, a naturally occurring diamond may come in all tones of rainbow colours. Although diamonds are mainly associated with finger rings, there are also fully studded bracelets and bangles, short and long necklaces, exquisite nose rings, attractive maang tikkas, lovely earrings, and even elegant kamarbands. A relatively new addition to the pool of diamond jewellery as a whole is a diamond set, and it is fast becoming a popular trend.

Typically, a diamond set consists of a necklace and a pair of earrings that portray the central design of the set. The necklace may have a hidden symmetry or may come with a bail pendant studded with diamonds to form the intended motifs attached to a metallic chain of choice. It can even be an ornate piece with a cluster of diamonds beautifully assembled to create an exquisite design to line the neck area. The pair of earrings may be in the form of danglers, chandeliers and even studs, all of which are stunning yet hide the complexity in their make.

Depending upon the occasion, a person can choose a lightweight or a heavyweight design set. Lightweight designs may range from simple patterns like a leaf, a petal or a flower, an alphabet or even a star to even solitaire diamond pendants complete with matching earring studs or danglers. These are very much suited for daily wear and pre-occasion outfits.
A heart-shaped coloured diamond set, such as a blue diamond heart necklace, is also a kind of lightweight design but is on the expensive side.

Heavyweight design sets, on the other hand, can either be a layered or consist of just a single thick piece of jewellery, accompanied by similar earrings in chandeliers or dangler designs. These are traditional sets and are often included as part of bridal wear or party ornaments. Heavy design sets may consist of designs such as birds and peacock patterns, a fusion of kundan, pearls and rubies with diamonds, temple designs inspired by ancient works involving Gods & Goddesses, Mughalian era designs, etc.
One of the most common, but expensive types is a set with heavy choker diamonds embellished in 22k gold.
