American diamonds look like exact replicas of natural diamonds when mounted on a piece of jewelry. American diamond is the crystalline form of zirconium dioxide also known as CZ (cubic zirconia). American diamonds are best described as cheap and ordinary substitutes for diamonds.

The first test is to examine the stone for scratches; a real diamond will have none due to its hardness. The second method is to conduct a fog test by breathing onto the stone. Real diamonds clear up instantly as they are conductors of heat. The third method is to drop a stone into a glass filled with three-quarters of pure water. A real diamond would sink due to its high density. Because it is a manmade stone, cubic zirconia does not have any astrological value. Anyone can flaunt these beautiful stones for aesthetic reasons, as they are affordable and beautiful.
