Stone Pendant

The word "pendant" finds its origin in the Latin language, meaning "hanging down". It is the oldest known piece of jewellery used by mankind, made in stone, plastic, shell and pottery. The dangling shape of the Pendant is attributed to the loop enclosing the stone attached to the necklace. The Pendants are shaped into various forms to suit different purposes like protection, identification and self-affirmation in addition to ornamentation.

Pendants are classified into different types based on the type of stones utilised in their creation.
