Ornaments have always been an indispensable part of the lives of the people. Whether made of a combination of metals and precious stones, stones, shells, paper or even clay, ornaments have always tempted humankind.

There are ornaments that one can wear on the hair or head, body, neck, ears, hands, nose and even feet.

We have a wide range of ornaments. Some of them are crowns, tiaras, necklaces, pendants, bangles, nose rings, earrings, cufflinks, brooches, bracelets, anklets, toe rings, maang tikas, kamarbands (belly chains), armlets and so on.

Gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium are the significant metals that are generally popular in ornament production with gold ornaments undoubtedly having a paramount position.

Although modern jewellery designs are prevalent, traditional Indian ornaments indeed hold a sovereign position in the country. Among the diverse categories of ornament designs available, the most demanding designs in the industry are Kundan jewellery which dates back to Mughal era, Meenakari jewellery from Rajasthan, Jadau jewellery from Gujarat and Rajasthan, Lac jewellery; also from Rajasthan, Pachchikam from Gujarat, Polki Jewellery and Antique jewellery.

Gemstones also demand an indispensable position. Some precious and semi-precious stones are believed to bring prosperity and good fortune to the user if worn in correspondence to their birth star. Some of the most prevalent gemstones are Sapphire, Emerald, Amber, Amethyst, Ruby, Turquoise, Jade and Jasper.
