Jewellery Meaning

The word Jewellery is derived from the French word “jewel” meaning plaything. Humans began manufacturing jewellery many years ago. The earliest form of jewellery was created not by humans but by Neanderthals; an extinct species of archaic humans who lived in Europe. The earliest evidence of established ornament use was found in Ancient Egypt and dates back about 3,000–5,000 years ago.

There are different forms of Jewellery worn for traditional, social or religious reasons. Jewellery can come in a variety of ways, worn on any part of the body. Ornaments have a vast range of designs and styles. There are ornaments of different types, such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and cufflinks.

Jewellery made from a variety of materials like gemstones, amber, coral, beads, and shells is widely used for large scale production.

Jewellery has been made to adorn nearly every part of the body, from hairpins to toe rings. Adult women have been proved to be the highest consistent wearers of jewellery.

Jewellery represents an evergreen array of accessories that highlights the appearance of an individual.
