Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi, marks the beginning of the Diwali celebrations, observed in the month of Ashvini on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight). Dhanteras is the festival of worshipping Lord Dhanvantari.
